Happy New Year Scholars, Parents and Future Students,

As I reflect on the events and experiences from 2009, I want to first thank our wonderful Staff for their undying drive to be the best school in the nation. We are off to a phenomenal start. I know we will attain our goal of reaching an 800 API. We couldn’t reach our goal without thanking our parents for their support and dedication to our school vision and mission. Your presence on campus as volunteers during school activities, field trips, monthly parent meetings and fundraisers is invaluable to the success of our school. Thank you for allowing LDP to educate your children.

LDP would not be the most popular, dynamic, talented school without the LDP Scholars. You have worked so hard to be on Scholar Club, Honor Roll and Student of the Month. The 7th and 8th graders took the academically challenging ACT Explore Exam and we can’t wait to see the results that should arrive at the end of January. I’m very proud of all the talented students who performed in the ICEF Willy Wonka Production and the Winter Wonderland Dance Recital in December. Student Council put on an impressive leadership presentation at the Challengers Boys and Girls Board of Directors meeting. Noah Whitney is leading his team to greatness and David Curtis made an exceptional performance as he sung “Cheer Up Charlie” from Willy Wonka. He had the Board of Directors on their feet with cheers. Ava Craddolph and other LDP Scholars made a huge impression on Tavis Smiley at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the America I Am exhibit at the California Science Center.

2010 will prove to be the best year! We are nearing closer and closer to our first Culminating 8th Grade Class. They are working so to keep Lou’s Dream alive! They are the first! They are legendary! I am thankful for the 8th Graders dedication to excellence and leadership.
Peace and Blessings for 2010,
Carla Chambers
